Obituary for Josephine Ruffo

Josephine Ruffo, age 84 of Staten Island, NY formerly of Effort and Boynton Beach, Florida passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 14th at home.
Josephine was the loving wife of the late Gayetano Ruffo who passed away October 13, 2012.
She was born in Castelbuono, Sicily on April 6, 1932, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Mazzola) Capuana.
Josephine was a former member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
We have been blessed with the presence of Josephine in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her son: Frank Pugliese and wife Jodi of Staten Island, NY. She was the loving grandmother to her two grandchildren: Justin Pugliese of North Bergen, Nj and Alison Barone and husband Matthew of Staten Island, NY with whom she resided, and a great granddaughter: Pia Barone of Staten Island, NY.
She is also survived by a brother: Natale Capuana of New Jersey; two sisters: Virginia Garofalo of McMichael’s and Antoinette Pescitelli and husband John of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17th at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
Josephine will be buried next to her loving husband at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Brodheadsville.
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Thursday, February 16th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert. Additional viewing will be held on Friday, February 17th from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home.
