Obituary for John W. Garr

John W. Garr, 75 of Kunkletown passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 17th at his home.
John was the loving husband of the late Laura M. (Hill) Garr who passed away February 9, 2018.
He was born in Philadelphia on May 23, 1944, son of the late Vincent DePaul Garr and Caroline E. (Ogden) Garr.
John had worked at the Philadelphia International Airport for 4 years in the freight department, he had also worked as a waiter at Bookbinders in South Philadelphia for 10 years.
He worked as a meat slicer/packer for Oscar Meyer in Philadelphia for 10 years
After relocating to the Pocono’s and worked at Instrument Specialties as a Metal Plater in Delaware Water Gap for 13 years. . John had also worked at Anvil-Rickwell as a pipe fabricator for 15 years in the Saltebelt area.
We have been blessed with the presence of John in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his daughter: Lisa Giordano of Brooklyn, NY. He was the loving grandfather to his four grandchildren: Brooke Curcio and her husband Nicholas; Danielle Lillman and her fiance Eric Gomer; Michael Giordano and fiance Amanda Bonsignore; Lauren Giordano and seven great grand sons: Christopher Gomer, Jaxson Gomer, Mark Aviles, Graceson Curcio, Damien Cox, Nova Miranda and Gavin Curcio.
He is also survived by his brother: Robert W. Garr and his wife Linda of Kunkletown and two sisters in law: Eileen Garr of Kunkletown and Virginia Costagliola of Queens, NY and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his wife Laura, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Vincent J. Garr Jr. and Thomas Garr and a sister in law: Marie Garr.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert with Rev. David Felker officiating.
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences from 2 pm, Saturday, June 22nd until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lehigh Valley Home Care & Hospice, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
