Obituary for Norman W. Kolment

Norman W. Kolment, born on October 22, 1928 in New York City, NY, passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home in Saylorsburg, PA.

He resided in Ringwood, NJ for 45 years where he was an active parishioner at St. Catherine's of Bologna, Roman Catholic Church. In 2008, Norman moved to Saylorsburg, PA.

Norman served in the Coast Guard, Merchant Marine 1946 - 1948. He was a truck driver for 42 years, working for Red Star Express in Newark, NJ for 30 years until retiring in 1992, where he earned an award for driving 2,000,000 miles without an accident.
Norman was a former member of the Live Steamers Club in New Jersey. He attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, PA.
Norman was the loving husband of Alice R. (Poulin) Kolment who preceded him in death on September 8, 1989. He is the son of the late Marie and William Kolment. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kolment, of Belfast, ME. He is survived by his children, Joan Quenneville and her husband Rene of Ontario, Canada, Raymond Kolment and his wife Lucy of Quebec, Canada, Ronald Kolment and his wife Bobbi of Saylorsburg, PA, and Emily Tinger and her husband Robert of Friendswood, TX. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Beverly, Regina, Regis, Nadine, Josie, William, Sarah, Alicia, Sophia, RJ, Marissa, Nicholas, Bradley, Jessica, Julianna, and Davis. Also, 6 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Friends and visitors are invited to attended the wake on Friday, May 17 from 3:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Route 209, Gilbert, PA with the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (adjacent to the funeral home).

The burial procession will begin on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 am at Gower Funeral Home. Norman will be laid to rest with his loving wife at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ, at approximately 11:00 am.
